Protect the Eco System – Kibalabag Tree Planting and Watershed Protection Program

A three-year tree planting program at Purok 1, Barangay Kibalabag, city of Malaybalay Bukidnon.

The program aims to replenish denuded grasslands with trees to prevent soil erosion and protect the watershed area where the entire city of Malaybalay is dependent on its water source. The organization aims to plant bamboo trees along the two river banks of Magkalalot river and Kibalabag river respectively where the target planting area is located.  Identified landslide and erosion-prone areas are where lumber trees are also focused.  Other non-landslide areas will be planted with fruit-bearing trees for the sustainable livelihood program of the organization.  This program is an ongoing activity starting in September 2021 and continuing until early of the year 2024.
