Solar Energy National Distribution Partnership

Solar Energy National Distribution Partnership

A partnership with one of the biggest solar light inverter brand distributors in the Philippines is in the works on a meeting held with its CEO, Dominic Dexon So, at its corporate office in Davao City.

The meeting was made in consonance with the organization’s effort to support renewable energy to help curb the carbon footprint and rise in global warming down to 1.5 degrees Celsius in an accord held in Paris on the 12th of December, 2015, which was adopted by 196 participating nations.

Environmental Benefits of Solar Energy

Solar energy production with the use of photovoltaic panels eliminates the use of water in its electricity production compared to hydro and thermal electric plants in the country.

Apart from the zero use of water in its electricity generation, solar power also cuts down gas emission that affects the environment by using coal and fossil fuel in the production of power, thereby mitigating climate change which is vital in the protection of humans and wildlife, respectively.

Economic Impact

Philippines has the highest electricity generation charged to its consumers in the whole of Asia due to the country’s reliance on imported coal and diesel for its production. With the development and growing production of solar energy systems, the regular household can now avail of the technology to curb the family’s electricity bills for the long term.  It, however, comes at an investment due to the fact that one has to purchase the components needed to run a reliable solar power generating system that includes determining the power consumption of each home appliance and getting the sum of them. The appropriate solar controller charger, the photovoltaic panels, the battery to store the power generated, and the recommended wiring and circuit breaker requirements to run are among the few needed components one has to procure to run an entire system.

One can choose a dual electrical system when during the day when electricity is optimally produced by the solar power system when the sun is up, and the local power grid takes care of the electrical consumption at night.

Another economic benefit of using solar power is selling surplus power generated to the local electrical grid company whenever such agreements are allowed, especially in areas where power consumption is more significant than its supply.

Partnership Goals

The partnership aims to bring solar power technology within reach of as many Filipinos, primarily in the commercial and secondarily in the residential sectors, with industry-standard practices in the implementation of safety installation protocols and the use of proper equipment.  These are all aimed at providing optimal solar power usage experience, helping save the environment, increase commercial revenues at a lower cost.
